Summary about Mindmapping
In the past 2 months, I have posted some
blogs about mindmapping and discussed with you. Thanks for your comments. Most of you have realized
the value of mindmapping and made the most of it in your life and study.
Because of the limitation of my time and ability,
the research on mindmapping is not perfect. If you still have some questions about
it, there are some references for you to learn deeper.
This article is the most comprehensive I
have seen so far. It concludes the following parts:
- What is Mind Mapping?
- Getting Started with Mind Mapping
- Types of Mind Maps
- Common Uses of Mind Maps
- Mind Mapping Tools and Applications
- Mind Mapping Resources

There is a TED about mindmapping. The
speaker, Hazel, shares her work on mind mapping and what it can do for
understanding, memorization, and retention.
Jialu,
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing some additional resources for mind mapping. I really enjoyed reading your post throughout the semester. As mentioned before, I use mind mapping quite often. Thanks
Billy
Billy,
DeleteThanks for your comment and support. I browse your blog often as well, the posts you shared are attractive and useful.
Jialu
Jialu,
ReplyDeleteThank you for a very informative Blog series. Often it seemed there were too many great blogs and not enough time to read them. As a first time blogger, I would say that this experience opened my eyes to new and creative collaborative genre specific communication conduits. The different visual and grammatical styling of each blog sight help me to refine the graphic aesthetics of my KB.
Thank you again for taking such a difficult subject area and making it interesting and informative.
Matt
Hi Matt,
DeleteThanks for your comment. In fact, I also felt this assignment was difficult at first, but then I gradually find its fun. It is a great opportunity for me to make my own blog and share my ideas with you. I have a sense of accomplishment after every post.
Jialu
Jialu,
ReplyDeleteI had never considered this as a way to memorize information or just to improve the cognitive side of my memory.
Thanks for your post, I will research this as I get more time in the near future.
Tony Ruiz
Hi Tony,
DeleteIt is indeed a meaningful topic for you to do research in the future. Thanks for your reply.

Jialu,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the video about mindmapping and how it can enhance our cognitive abilities to remember things. I, like Billy- am a big fan of mindmapping and I use it for almost everything. For example when writing- I can't conduct an outline first then lay out what i'm going to write- I jot down a ton of ideas, then connect them. My outline usually comes last. I know, I know- weird, but that's how my mind works. Thank you for going more in-depth on mindmapping...my son likes your blog by the way.
~Nick A.
Hi Nick,
DeleteI am so glad that your son likes my blog! I hope my blog will bring more convenience to your future use of mindmapping. Thanks for your reply!

Jialu,
ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting topic and great post. I watched the video and I am going to try to start using it. It can't hurt me to try another way and see if it helps. More to follow. Thanks for the post.

Jialu,
ReplyDeleteGreat post, I really liked the article you referenced. One thing that stood out to me was using mind mapping for notes. I had never really thought of that but seems like a great way to put notes together in a way that makes sense to the individual. I am definitely going to try in the next time I get a chance. Thanks

Jialu,
ReplyDeleteGreat work!Thank you for sharing the external source in the post. The video give me a broad picture on mind mapping. Like this week discussion, I just learned that concept mapping can be used in the learning assessment. I think there are a lot potential functions of mind mapping that we can discover.
